Warm & Natural Wedding Day at Hotel Magdelena in Austin, Texas

Our love story started on a simple date for coffee at Noble Jo and a walk on the east Austin boardwalk. We quickly extended it with a dinner together that evening at reservations Michael had made just in case at his favorite restaurant, Launderette. Over the next several months, we were intentional about our time together, the dates we went on and how we learned about each other.

To be planning our wedding together at Hotel Magdelena less than a year later was a dream come true. And as a wedding photographer, I knew I wanted the day to be as unique and stress free as possible.

Choosing Hotel Magdelena for Our Wedding

When we started searching for a wedding venue, we knew if we chose somewhere in Austin we wanted it to be in the heart of the city. We also wanted to make sure that it was easy for our guests who would be traveling in to have somewhere to stay. When we stumbled on Hotel Magdalena it all made sense. It was the perfect space for the wedding, unique, our guests could stay on site and South Congress is one of our favorite places to go to dinner!

A Modern and Warm Vibe

One of the best parts of the planning process was our wedding planner, Kailee. We gave her a Pinterest board and three things we were looking for – modern, clean and warm. To say she knocked it out of the park is most definitely an understatement! She designed our dream day and helped put together a team of people who could bring it to life.

Late Night Reception Touches

We had a few unique touches, but two of our favorites were the espresso martinis served with our late night snack – cinnamon rolls. And not just any cinnamon rolls, but my mom’s! She is famous for these and made over 200 for our day!
